Cross-cultural understanding

Cross-cultural communication is a field of study that looks at how people from differing cultural backgrounds communicate, in similar and different ways among themselves, and how they endeavour to communicate across cultures. Intercultural communication is a related field of study.

That is according to wikipedia. Of course, everyone is welcome to have his/her own definition and probably noone will be wrong about it - it is just one of those things that should be seen thru one's perspective. Cross-cultural understanding is a vital issue in international business, as the success of international commerce depends upon the smooth interaction of employees and business partners from different cultures and regions.
