Warm weather, delicious food, welcoming people and crowed streets - that were my first impressions of Indonesia. After a train ride I arrived on my internship destination. The scenery is stunning. Also the several weekend trips showed me the beauty of the country. Jogja, Batu Karas, Borobudur, Prambanan etc. are just some places which are worth visiting to discover some of the different facets of Indonesia. The internship gives me a great opportunity to plunge into a total different culture. It’s very interesting to see how people here handle their daily lives, how they see for example relationships in a different way as I, Swiss, do. The internship is an opportunity to meet, work and spend time with local people, a great experience. A fact is that this internship really broadens my horizons in a professional and especially personal way.
The hosting organization supported me in all things. They really try hard to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The Internship itself is mainly focused in teaching students in several subjects. The accommodation is really nice. Additionally they provided us mineral water for free. I also got a bike. I got 10 days holiday and the pocket money was paid always in the first week of the month.
Internship-Indonesia is a trustworthy organization. The whole process from the first contact to the first working day worked out for me. Everything was really smooth and easy going. Questions are answered quickly. It’s definitely worth it.
